Allison Balanc is a D.C.-based Neo-Soul singer, songwriter, producer, educator, and entrepreneur. Creating music has always been central to her self-expression, and she believes music holds the power to heal, innovate, nurture, and inspire us all.

In 2007, Allison was signed to the Grammy Award–winning label Compound Entertainment after winning Ne-Yo’s Talent Search. In 2012, she once again caught the attention of the industry when entertainment manager William “Malachai” Johns discovered her talent, and she went on to win the Are You the Lipstick Talent Search. Allison is an eight-time Washington Area Music Award nominee, including a nomination for the 2021 Washington Area Music Educator Award.

She released her first EP, Change of Plans, in 2015, followed by her second project, Lost and Found, in 2017. She debuted Lost and Found live at the W Hotel DC’s POV Live concert series—her performance became the highest-grossing in the series’ history and established an ongoing partnership between Allison Balanc Productions and the venue. Since then, she has performed at countless venues, with highlights including a performance for Grammy Award–winner Anthony Hamilton’s book signing during Congressional Black Caucus Week in 2019 and the 100th anniversary of The District Cup in 2021.

Allison Balanc Productions has since expanded its offerings to include creative direction, digital content strategy, session work, vocal coaching, songwriting, and production. In March 2022, she launched her latest venture, Driven Women Collective—an all-female songwriting collective and publishing company that provides songwriting workshops, brand development, and placement procurement for women and female-identifying songwriters. Committed to giving back, Allison also teaches voice and songwriting classes to underprivileged youth through partnerships with non-profit organizations such as Project Create DC, The Musicianship, and Jubilee Housing.

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Allison created #SocialDistanceBae, a series of songs released in April 2020. Building on that momentum, she collaborated with renowned singer-songwriter Durand Bernarr on the single Friendzone, released in October 2020, which was later featured on Ghostface Killah’s Shotguns mixtape in April 2021. Her most recent work includes lyrical prose for London-based duo Titaness’s performance art installation Love Is A State of Mind.

She continues to expand her skills into sync and soundtrack work, writing songs for television through Viacom International Inc. and Alexandra Hampton Music, LLC. In addition, Allison has created a short film and accompanying soundtrack, which she plans to release in 2025. She believes that artists blossom most through collaboration and that we are never finished learning, growing, or evolving.

Allison is steadfast in her belief that there is no deeper gratitude than showing up as our fully authentic selves and living the purpose we were created for. She is dedicated to creating art that can be enjoyed by all, holding firm to her conviction that music is a blessing to the world—and that “a thing of beauty is a joy forever.”
